Day 1 ARRIVE IN SEATTLE
Welcome to Seattle, the coffee capital of the world! At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming adventure.
Day 2 SEATTLE
This morning, sightseeing includes Pioneer Square and the city’s diverse neighborhoods. Next, a guided TASTING TOUR of Pike Place Market explains the Market’s rich history and culture. See the first Starbucks® store, experience the Market’s flying fish, and hear entertaining stories from market vendors. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. You may wish to visit Seattle’s famous Space Needle for spectacular views of the city below, spend time at beautiful Chihuly Garden and Glass, or enjoy a waterfront dinner with fresh local seafood. Your Tour Director will have more suggestions for sightseeing, shopping, and dining.
Day 3 SEATTLE–VICTORIA CLIPPER–VICTORIA
Enjoy a mini-cruise as you travel from downtown Seattle to Victoria aboard the VICTORIA CLIPPER. Have your camera ready for fantastic views and the chance to spot wildlife. Arrive in Victoria, British Columbia, where a sightseeing tour includes Chinatown, the Fairmont Empress Hotel, Bastion Square, and Thunderbird Park. This evening, enjoy a tasting and dinner at a local WINERY.
Day 4 VICTORIA
This day is free to explore on your own; your Tour Director suggests an optional wildlife and whale-watching trip. For shoppers, Government Street’s elegant shops and Market Square’s collection of specialty stores are good places to start. History buffs should be sure to visit the Royal British Columbia Museum.
Day 5 VICTORIA–VANCOUVER
We start today with a visit to world-famous BUTCHART GARDENS. This estate offers more than 700 varieties of flowers on 55 acres and includes Italian, Japanese, and English-style gardens. Next, travel via BC FERRY through the Gulf Islands to Vancouver—British Columbia’s largest city. Your sightseeing tour includes Stanley Park, the waterfront, and Chinatown. This evening is at leisure to explore more of this vibrant city on your own.
Day 6 VANCOUVER
There’s always something to do in Vancouver and with a full day to explore, the possibilities are endless. Your Tour Director suggests a walk across the thrilling Capilano Suspension Bridge, a climb up Grouse Mountain for spectacular views of the city, or time to explore the many shops of Robson Street. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 7 VANCOUVER–SEATTLE (EMBARKATION)
Return to Seattle and embark Holland America’s MS Eurodam to begin your cruise.
Day 8 CRUISING
Your cruise continues north toward Alaska today. Spend the day aboard the ship preparing for the endless scenic surprises that await you as you get closer to the Gulf of Alaska, abundant wildlife, and the many ports of call you’ll enjoy.
Day 9 JUNEAU
Visit one of the most remote capital cities—Juneau. Accessible only by air and water, Juneau is located at the base of two towering mountains in the heart of Alaska’s Inside Passage, and is home to a rich Gold Rush history, Native culture, wildlife, and a wealth of natural wonders. Shop for gold nuggets, visit the stately Governor’s Mansion, saunter through the swinging doors of the historic Red Dog Saloon, or visit mighty Mendenhall Glacier, an impressive river of ice that is 12 miles long and 1.5 miles wide.
Day 10 SCENIC CRUISING: GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK
This Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site protects a unique ecosystem in an ever-changing glacial landscape. Witness the spectacle of thunder and flying spray as huge slabs of ice break off and “calve” into the sea—making for lasting memories. National Park rangers accompany the ship, adding expert commentary to the day’s events.
Day 11 SITKA
Step back in time in the charming port of Sitka, which reigned as the capital of Russian America for 100 years. Experience “life under the czars” with majestic onion-domed St. Michael’s Cathedral, the Sheldon Jackson Museum (housing prized Russian and Indian artifacts), and a lively performance by the New Archangel Dancers.
Day 12 KETCHIKAN
Experience Native Alaska firsthand. Meet the spirits of the raven, whale, and eagle as you view the largest collection of totems in the world at Saxman Totem Park or Totem Bight State Historic Park. Or, explore Creek Street, now home to contemporary art galleries and quaint boutiques.
Day 13 VICTORIA
Experience a bit of Britain in this Canadian city with its unique blend of Old World charm and New World experiences. Boasting the mildest climate in Canada, the city is green and beautiful year-round. You’ll find history, architecture, colorful gardens, and traditions like Afternoon Tea mixed with an abundance of outdoor adventure, world-class culinary experiences, and a vibrant art and culture scene. Visit world-famous Butchart Gardens, stroll along the Inner Harbour, or maybe sample some of Canada’s finest brews.
Day 14 SEATTLE (DISEMBARKATION)
The vacation ends this morning with guests departing on individual schedules. Please schedule flights after Noon.
