STEVE OSTEN

Escorting Tours for more than 20 years

My interest in the national parks began as a child on summer vacations in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. In college, I studied Botany, Ichthyology, Mammology, and Ornithology, and I began working in Yellowstone as a summer seasonal guide 25 years ago. I have also worked in Sequoia, the Everglades, and Alaska as a naturalist guide. Whether it's beachcombing in Florida, birding in the Everglades, or hiking in the Tetons, as long as I'm in nature, I'm where I want to be.

Chuckwagon Cookout & Show

Chuckwagon Cookout & Show

Experience the thrill of bygone years when covered wagons crossing over Teton Pass in Jackson were a common sight. Traveling by horse-drawn covered wagons, you are swept away from the Town of Jackson into beautiful Cache Creek Canyon. Keep your eyes open; you never know whom you may encounter on the trail-after all, this is the west. You'll pull in to 'camp,' where you'll enjoy a delicious barbecue meal and the riotous entertainment of mountain men and cowboys.

Approximate value: $48 USD per person

Wildlife Scenic Float Trip

Wildlife Scenic Float Trip

The 8-Mile Scenic Float begins at Pritchard Creek and travels past the nesting areas of both bald eagles and ospreys. The trip is a great way to see the beauty of the river and the geology that forms the Grand Canyon of the Snake River, without getting wet. The river is home to a variety of waterfowl and native animals including moose, deer and river otters. Early morning is the watering time for most animals along the river, and affords the best opportunity for wildlife viewing. Feel free to bring your camera with you! (3 hours)

Approximate value: $70 USD per person
