You’ll experience the best of Spain on this vacation that includes an overnight in Granada and 2-night stays in Madrid, Costa del Sol, and Seville. Spain is a country steeped in history, and on this Spain tour, you’ll have an opportunity to see some of its historical sights as well as its well-known museums and churches. One tour highlight is the Prado Museum in Madrid. One of the most prestigious art museums in the world, the Prado houses 8,000 pieces of Western painting!

Enjoy a guided walking tour of Toledo, a city that has been influenced by three cultures—Arabic, Jewish, and Christian—and see the architectural styles left behind by each. While in Toledo, visit the Church of Santo Tomé with one of El Greco’s most famous paintings. Also visit Granada, a city with more than 1,000 years of recorded history, and see the Alhambra Complex. The Alhambra was a palace, citadel, and fortress for the Nasrid sultans and their servants, elite soldiers, and high officials from the 13th to 14th centuries. In Seville, visit the Alcazar, founded in the 11th century as a Moorish fortress. Time on the Costa del Sol gives you a chance to relax, enjoy the sandy beaches, and browse the trendy boutiques.

On this Spain tour, Globus has also arranged some out-of-the-ordinary experiences for you. For example, Jerez is famous for its sherry wines, and you'll visit a sherry bodega for a tasting, along with tapas. Throughout your tour, you’ll be accompanied by an expert Tour Director and Local Guides who will bring each city to life with in-depth, firsthand knowledge of the cities' histories, sights, cultures, and secrets. They may even teach you a few words of Spanish! Between the sights, museums, scenery, and experts, it's a Spectacular Spain vacation.

Cathedral and Columbus Tomb

Cathedral and Columbus Tomb

Standing on the site of a grand mosque, Seville's 15th-century gothic cathedral was built to demonstrate the city's power and wealth after the Reconquista, when the city was captured from the Moors. It is the third-largest church in Europe and boasts 80 chapels, the largest altarpiece in the world, and the breathtaking La Giralda, one of the three remaining Almohad minarets in the world (the others are in Marrakesh and Rabat, Morocco). This beautiful structure became the bell tower of the cathedral, and dominates the city's skyline. The cathedral also houses the remains of explorer Christopher Columbus. Although originally buried in Havana's cathedral in Cuba, his first discovery in 1492, his remains were moved to Seville during the upheavals surrounding the Cuban Revolution in 1902.
