Another famous place of pilgrimage is Lourdes. Day 1 Arrive in Paris, France

Welcome to Paris! At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions, and leave the hotel for a welcome dinner with wine at one of Paris’ lively restaurants. Then, enjoy an orientation drive to get a first impression of the “City of Light.”

Day 2 Paris

Guided sightseeing features the highlights of Paris, like the Arc de Triomphe, Opéra, Madeleine, and Champs-Elysées. Visit magnificent NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL and admire its Rose Window, and for a panoramic view, take the elevator to the second floor of the EIFFEL TOWER. Optional excursions are available to the impressive Palace and Gardens of Versailles, built by the “Sun King,” Louis XIV, as well as to the artists’ hill of Montmartre, followed by a cruise on the beautiful Seine River.

Day 3 Paris–Honfleur–Bayeux

A pleasant drive through the rural area west of Paris takes you to Honfleur with its enclosed harbor. Time to explore this picturesque town before heading to Bayeux, where you can admire QUEEN MATILDA’S TAPESTRY, depicting in extraordinary detail William the Conqueror’s conquest of England.

Day 4 Bayeux–Normandy Beaches–Mont St. Michel–St. Malo

On to the Normandy Beaches, scene of the Allied Forces’ landing on D-Day, June 6, 1944, stop at OMAHA BEACH and visit the AMERICAN CEMETERY. Then, continue to the famous ABBEY OF MONT ST. MICHEL, spectacularly perched on a rocky isle in the Gulf of Saint Malo, and enjoy an included lunch.

Day 7 Bordeaux. Excursion to St. Emilion

In the morning you can join an optional excursion to Arcachon. Situated at the southern entrance of the Atlantic Ocean, Arcachon Bay is crowned by Europe’s largest sand dune, the Dune de Pyla. This afternoon, your highlight is a visit to St. Emilion, where an exclusive WINE TASTING at Château Soutard awaits you.

Drive through the splendid vineyards of Languedoc-Roussillon and arrive at Aix-en-Provence, one of France’s most elegant cities. It was the birthplace of painter Cézanne, and has always attracted artists from all over the world. Follow your Tour Director for a walking tour through the center of the town. Then, join the main highway of France, the Route du Soleil, to Lyon, and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and its Roman ruins from FOURVIÈRE HILL

A short drive will take you to Longues sur mer where you will see one of the best preserved parts of Hitler's notorious Atlantic Wall: a four-strong gun battery. Completed in April 1944, this group of bunkers, armed with 152mm navy guns, was supposed to stop the Allied attack on D Day. Then on to Arromanches, a charming seaside resort famous for the remains of its artificial port: Mulberry. Constructed right after the landings, it was used to bring in over 2.5 million men and 4 million tons of supplies providing much needed reinforcements in France, a major step in the liberation of Europe. One of the marvels of the Aquitaine region is the Great Dune of Pyla, the tallest sand dune in Europe. It stretches its 60 million cubic meters of fine sand on nearly 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers) from south to north, 0.4 miles (500 meters) from west to east, and soars as high as 384 feet (117 meters).
