Some of the East Coast’s most vibrant and exciting cities come alive on this tour of the East Coast visiting Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston. Of course, you’ll see the must-see sights, including Arlington National Cemetery, where you’ll take a guided tram tour, and the famous memorials in Washington DC; the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall in Philadelphia; and Times Square, Greenwich Village, and the Financial District in New York City. You’ll also visit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City.

To make your tour of the east coast unique, Globus has also included some special experiences, such as a pizza tour in New York City. This tour will show you some of Brooklyn’s landmarks, including Coney Island, Brighton Beach, and famous movie locations, as well as a pizza tour. Additionally, Globus has arranged dinner at the historic City Tavern in Philadelphia, once host to George Washington, William Penn, and the First Continental Congress.

At the end of your tour, board the Amtrak train to Boston, where you’ll enjoy three nights and a 1-day hop-on/hop-off trolley tour to see all of the major sights and areas, including Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Fenway Park, Faneuil Hall, and more. Day 1 Arrive In Washington DC

Welcome to the nation’s capital! At 6 pm, meet your fellow traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming journey.

Day 2 Washington DC

This morning’s sightseeing features many of Washington’s famous landmarks, including the National Parks FoundationNational Parks Foundation LINCOLN, VIETNAM, KOREAN, and WORLD WAR II Memorials. Take a guided tram tour of ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY, where you’ll see the KENNEDY GRAVESITES. Dinner tonight is at one of the city’s favorite restaurants followed by a monument illumination tour.

Day 3 Washington DC

A full free day to pursue your favorite interests. Maybe visit the Smithsonian Institute, Georgetown, Ford’s Theatre, or other prominent monuments and museums. You may also want to journey to historic Old Town Alexandria, a quaint historic town just over the Potomac River. Your Tour Director will be available to offer suggestions on additional sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

Day 4 Washington DC–Philadelphia

Depart Washington DC this morning and travel to the “City of Brotherly Love.” Sightseeing through America’s fifth-largest city includes LOVE PARK; the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where you can run the steps like Rocky Balboa; and many of the important buildings of this historic city, the birthplace of the nation. Also included is a visit to National Parks FoundationNational Parks Foundation INDEPENDENCE NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK, home to the LIBERTY BELL and INDEPENDENCE HALL. This evening’s dinner will be at the Globus Local FavoriteGlobus Local Favorite historic City Tavern, once host to George Washington, William Penn, and the First Continental Congress.

Day 5 Philadelphia–New York City

This morning, travel north to the “Big Apple,” New York City. Upon arrival, cross over the Brooklyn Bridge to New York’s largest borough and enjoy a Globus Local FavoriteGlobus Local Favorite PIZZA TOUR. This fun and unique tour will show you some of Brooklyn’s landmarks, including Coney Island and Brighton Beach, movie locations from Saturday Night Fever, Goodfellas, and Moonstruck, and you’ll also get to sample some of New York’s finest pizza along the way. Your evening is free to explore on your own. You may want to take in a Broadway show or take a stroll through Times Square and admire the bright lights and sparkling theater marquees.

Day 6 New York City

Today, enjoy a tour of the city’s most famous sights: Times Square, Greenwich Village, the Financial District, and Chinatown. Included in your city tour is a visit to the NATIONAL SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL & MUSEUM, where there’s time to learn about 9/11 and its continued global significance as well as pay honor to the victims. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Your Tour Director will have suggestions for additional sightseeing, shopping, and dining.

Day 7 New York City

A free day to explore more of New York. Perhaps visit historic Ellis Island, enjoy a dazzling tour around the city by helicopter, walk the streets of Chinatown and Little Italy, or shop on Fifth Avenue. Your Tour Director will be available to help you with additional sightseeing plans as well as to give shopping and dining suggestions. Tonight, enjoy a festive farewell dinner with your Tour Director and travel companions.

Day 8 New York City–Amtrak–Boston

Board your AMTRAK TRAIN and travel north along the beautiful coast of Connecticut into Massachusetts. Arrive in Boston, known as the “Cradle of Liberty” due to the crucial role it played in the story of America. This evening, you may want to catch a game at the oldest baseball park in the major league—Fenway Park, home to the Red Sox—or enjoy a cool drink at the original Cheers Pub, where everybody knows your name.

Two full days to explore. Your stay includes a 1-day hop-on/hop-off TROLLEY TOUR. See all the major areas, including downtown, Beacon Hill, Back Bay, the Theater District, and the Waterfront District. You’ll also see the major sites, like Fenway Park, the Paul Revere House, the Old North Church, and Faneuil Hall.
