2016 Tour Details View 2017 Tour Details »

Israel has been a pilgrimage center for people throughout the ages and is a treasure trove of historical and biblical sights. On this Israel tour, start in Tel Aviv and end in Jerusalem with overnights also in Haifa and Kibbutz Lavi. Along the way, you’ll visit its most famous and interesting sights, including many of its UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Baha’i Shrine, the world center of Baha’i faith; Acre, a historic walled port-city where you’ll see the immense underground Crusader City, dating from 1104-1291; and Masada, a rugged cliff-top fortress where Jewish zealots chose death rather than slavery to the Romans.

Also visit many of the sights associated with Jesus, including Cana, site of the first miracle; Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered his Sermon on the Mount; Capernaum, where Jesus recruited his first followers among the fishermen; the Garden of Gethsemane with its Rock of Agony, where Jesus prayed his last prayer before his arrest; the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, erected over the site of the crucifixion; the house of Caiaphas, where Jesus was kept the night after his arrest; and the Church of the Nativity, which stands on the site where Jesus was born.

You’ll also visit the Wailing Wall, the Jewish religion’s most holy shrine; the Israel Museum, with the Dead Sea Scrolls; and much more. Globus has also arranged some out-of-the-ordinary and fun experiences for you on this Israel tour. Take a cruise on the Sea of Galilee and hear a lecture on kibbutz life. Additionally, you’ll travel to the Dead Sea, where Globus has arranged for you to experience the buoyancy in the water and receive a salt scrub gift.

These are just some of the many highlights of this once-in-a-lifetime Israel vacation!

Spectacular Light Show and Middle Eastern Dinner

Spectacular Light Show and Middle Eastern Dinner

Join us for an unforgettable night out: hear the story of Jerusalem at a spectacular light show at the Tower of David, followed by a delicious Middle Eastern dinner. The Tower of David is an ancient citadel, near the Jaffa Gate, entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem. Built to strengthen a strategically weak point in the Old City's defenses, during the second century BCE, it was subsequently destroyed and rebuilt by, Christian, Muslim, Mamluk, and Ottoman conquerors of Jerusalem. It contains important archeological finds dating back 2,700 years. When the sun sets and dusk embraces the ancient stones, the walls of the Citadel serve as the backdrop for an evening performance in sight and sound. Amidst the archaeological remains in the Citadel's courtyard and to the sound of original music, the story of Jerusalem unfolds through giant, breathtaking, virtual reality images. The Night Spectacular uses "trompe l'oeil" technology, the stones of the walls and structures fade into the scenes and the screened images envelop the viewers and whisk them off to a one-of-a-kind multi-sensory experience. Finish the evening perfectly with dinner at a Middle Eastern oriented restaurant in the city.
