Bask in the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest on this exhilarating vacation from Seattle to Portland. In Seattle, take in panoramic vistas from the Space Needle and join a behind-the-scenes walking tour of the colorful Pike Place Market. In Portland, a tasting tour shows how this became one of the country’s top dining cities, and you’ll also participate in a tasting at a local winery. Ferry over to Bainbridge Island and Port Angeles, your starting point to Olympic National Park. Here you’ll find yourself surrounded by stunning mountains, ancient forests, rugged beaches, dense rainforest, and resident wildlife—like elk, bald eagles, and blacktail deer. You’ll also enjoy a picnic lunch in the Hoh Rainforest! More natural beauty awaits along the Oregon coast, where you can see spectacular stretches of scenery and quaint seaside towns. Your journey concludes with an Alaskan cruise. Marvel at glaciers and witness the amazing spectacle of thunder and spray as tremendous slabs of ice break off and “calve” into the sea. Visit Alaska’s capital, Juneau; charming Sitka; and the totems and native culture of Ketchikan. DAY 1Arrive in Seattle

Welcome to Seattle! At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink. Your Tour Director will prepare you for your upcoming Pacific Northwest adventure.

DAY 2Seattle

Start the morning with a sightseeing tour featuring the waterfront, Pioneer Square, and more. Then, enjoy a behind-the-scenes Globus Local FavoriteGlobus Local Favorite WALKING TOUR of the 107-year-old Pike Place Market. Meet lively characters, see fish fly, cheese being made, and the original Starbucks store. Then, travel to the SPACE NEEDLE for panoramic views, and visit the CHIHULY GARDEN & GLASS to see incredible creations by this world-renowned artist. The rest of the day is yours to explore this vibrant city. (Breakfast)

DAY 3Seattle–Olympic National Park

This morning, FERRY across Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula. Arrive at OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK. At almost a million acres, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a wonderland of scenic beauty. Spend the next two nights in Port Angeles just outside the park. (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 4Olympic National Park

Spend the day exploring Olympic National Park with a local expert. Visit the Globus Local FavoriteGlobus Local Favorite HOH RAINFOREST and walk on the “Hall of Mosses” trail. This temperate rainforest receives 140 inches or more of rain a year, creating a green environment of Douglas fir, western hemlock, and Sitka spruce. Keep an eye out for some the park’s resident elk, blacktail deer, bald eagles, and more. After a picnic lunch, it’s on to RIALTO BEACH for beachcombing or relaxing as you enjoy the ocean views. DAY 5Olympic National Park Area–Astoria–Newport

Travel down the Olympic Peninsula and stop in historic Astoria on the Columbia River. During your free time, consider spending time along the waterfront, where fishing boats unload their daily catches, seals and sea lions sun themselves, and charming Victorian architecture offers a glimpse into Astoria’s past. We’ll also visit the ASTORIA COLUMN and enjoy spectacular views of the city and Pacific Ocean below. Continue down the scenic Oregon coast to Newport for a 2-night stay. (Breakfast)

DAY 6Newport

Start your morning with an orientation tour of Newport, then explore the OREGON COAST AQUARIUM, where you’ll be immersed in the mysteries of the ocean. This world-class marine attraction is ranked among the top 10 aquariums in the world. Discover a variety of marine life as you visit their indoor and outdoor exhibits. The remainder of the day is yours to explore on your own. You may want to stroll the boardwalk, shop for the perfect souvenir, rent a bicycle, or go beachcombing. Tonight, enjoy a traditional Globus Local FavoriteGlobus Local Favorite Newport CLAM BAKE followed by a bonfire on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a drink or maybe a tasty childhood treat—a S’more! (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 7Newport–Tillamook–Portland

Depart Newport and enjoy a drive along one of the most popular and spectacular stretches of scenery on the Oregon coast—Three Capes Scenic Drive. Along the way, see dramatic views of the coastline, including Haystack Rock, pristine beaches, and quaint seaside communities. Stop for a WINE & CHEESE TASTING at the Blue Heron French Cheese Company. Arrive in Portland, known as the “City of Roses.” Visit WASHINGTON PARK, home of the INTERNATIONAL ROSE TEST GARDENS, followed by a city sightseeing tour. (Breakfast)

DAY 8Portland

On our morning Globus Local FavoriteGlobus Local Favorite TASTING TOUR, learn how Portland emerged as one of the top dining cities in the country and is now known for its foodie culture. During our tour we’ll visit a tea maker and bakery. Afterward, sample a bite from one of the city’s gourmet food carts. We then head to a local WINERY for a tasting and lunch with spectacular views of Mount Hood. The rest of the day is yours to explore on your own. DAY 10Scenic Cruising: Gulf of Alaska

Enjoy breathtaking scenery as we travel the route of Alaska’s Marine Highway. The entire shoreline of the Gulf of Alaska is a rugged combination of forests, mountains, and tidewater glaciers. Be on the lookout for Alaska’s wildlife including whales, seals, otters, puffins and more. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 11Juneau

Visit one of the most remote capital cities—Juneau. Accessible only by air and water, Juneau is located at the base of two towering mountains in the heart of Alaska’s Inside Passage, and is home to a rich Gold Rush history, Native culture, wildlife, and a wealth of natural wonders. Shop for gold nuggets, visit the stately Governor’s Mansion, saunter through the swinging doors of the historic Red Dog Saloon, or visit mighty Mendenhall Glacier, an impressive river of ice that is 12 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. DAY 12Glacier Bay National Park (Scenic Cruising)

This Biosphere Reserve and UNESCO World Heritage Site protects a unique ecosystem in an ever-changing glacial landscape. Witness the spectacle of thunder and flying spray as huge slabs of ice break off and “calve” into the sea—making for lasting memories. National Park rangers accompany the ship, adding expert commentary to the day’s events. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

DAY 13Sitka

Step back in time in the charming port of Sitka, which reigned as the capital of Russian America for 100 years. Experience “life under the czars” with majestic onion-domed St. Michael’s Cathedral, the Sheldon Jackson Museum (housing prized Russian and Indian artifacts), and a lively performance by the New Archangel Dancers. DAY 14Ketchikan

Experience Native Alaska firsthand. Meet the spirits of the raven, whale, and eagle as you view the largest collection of totems in the world at Saxman Totem Park or Totem Bight State Historic Park. DAY 15Victoria

Experience a bit of Britain in this Canadian city with its unique blend of Old World charm and New World experiences. Boasting the mildest climate in Canada, the city is green and beautiful year-round. You’ll find history, architecture, colorful gardens, and traditions like Afternoon Tea mixed with an abundance of outdoor adventure, world-class culinary experiences, and a vibrant art and culture scene. Visit world-famous Butchart Gardens, stroll along the Inner Harbour, or maybe sample some of Canada’s finest brews. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
