Chopin Concert The piano music of Poland's national composer, Frederick Chopin, perfectly encapsulates the spirit of this once war-torn land. Enjoy an exclusive private concert of evergreen mazurkas, waltzes, and polonaises, performed by a leading pianist. A treat for all music lovers! Royal Castle Together with your local guide, explore the beautiful Royal Castle. The history of this palace goes back to the 14th century when the Great Tower was erected. In the 16th and 17th century during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa, the Castle underwent large-scale expansion and was transformed into a 5-winged edifice with an inner country yard. In September 1939 the Castle was bombed by the Germans; however musicologists under the leadership of Prof. Stanislav Lorentz, managed to salvage some elements of the interiors and also some of the works of arts. In September 1944 the Castle was blown up by the Germany army and in 1984 the reconstructed interiors were opened to the general publics.

Ballet First brought to Russia under Tsar Alexis Mikhailovich in the 17th century, ballet in Russia evolved as an offshoot of French dance combined with Russian folk and peasant dance techniques. Russian Folklore Show Do not miss this outstanding show of Russian culture at one of St. Petersburg's grand palaces. Cossack dancers, colorful local costumes from different regions, and beautiful song and music together with great acrobats will be some of the highlights of this unforgettable evening.

St. Petersburg in Depth: The Rise and Fall of a Great Empire Visit the city`s birthplace, Peter & Paul Fortress, with the impressive burial site of the Romanovs, and see the Battleship Aurora, an important symbol of the 1917 revolution. Next, visit a functioning Orthodox church to witness part of a local service, a great contrast to your guided visit of the Grand Choral Synagogue, one of Europe`s most famous and beloved temples. Finally, take pictures of the city`s landmark Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood, known for its colorful onion domes and exterior mosaic.

Yusopov Palace This unique noble palace follows the different styles and trends in Russian architecture over the course of two centuries, representing a milestone in Russian art, culture, history, and politics. The Yusopov Palace boasts 180 sumptuously furnished rooms, and houses the private art collection of the Yusopov family. It was here that Grigori Rasputin was assassinated in 1916 - a waxwork tableau in the cellar recreates the scene of his murder.

Ethnographic Museum and Lunch Take a drive of approx. 1 hour to reach the Latvian Open-Air Ethnographic Museum, established in 1924 and considered to be one of the oldest and largest open-air museums in Europe as it covers an area of 87.66 hectares of pine forest on the shores of Jugla Lake. Its 118 old buildings from all historical districts of Latvia - Kurzeme, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Latgale - built from the end of the 17th century up to the second half of the 1930s have been relocated, reconstructed and furnished. Many of these buildings have not been destroyed during the war time. Farmsteads of Latvian farmers, craftsmen, and fishermen have been created in the museum and house the permanent exhibition - household and working tools, interior furnishings - which characterizes the time period, the district, and the owners. After the visit enjoy a delicious family-style lunch in the museum's restaurant, one drink is included as well as coffee or tea.
