Ethnographic Museum and Lunch
Take a drive of approx. 1 hour to reach the Latvian Open-Air Ethnographic Museum, established in 1924 and considered to be one of the oldest and largest open-air museums in Europe as it covers an area of 87.66 hectacres of pine forest on the shores of Jugla Lake. Its 118 old buildings from all historical districts of Latvia - Kurzeme, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Latgale - built from the end of the 17th century up to the second half of the 1930s have been relocated, reconstructed and furnished. Many of these buildings have not been destroyed during the war time. Farmsteads of Latvian farmers, craftsmen, and fishermen have been created in the museum and house the permanent exhibition - household and working tools, interior furnishings - which characterizes the time period, the district, and the owners. After the visit enjoy a delicious family-style lunch in the museum's restaurant, one drink is included as well as coffee or tea.

First brought to Russia under Tsar Alexis Mikhailovich in the 17th century, ballet in Russia evolved as an offshoot of French dance combined with Russian folk and peasant dance techniques. Yusopov Palace
This unique noble palace follows the different styles and trends in Russian architecture over the course of two centuries, representing a milestone in Russian art, culture, history, and politics. The Yusopov Palace boasts 180 sumptuously furnished rooms, and houses the private art collection of the Yusopov family. It was here that Grigori Rasputin was assassinated in 1916-a waxwork tableau in the cellar recreates the scene of his murder.
