Gondola Serenade Enjoy a ride in a traditional gondola, gliding through centuries-old canals, under famous arched bridges, past lavish palaces and quaint piazzas. These long, narrow, flat-bottomed boats with a high prow and stern were designed specifically for the Venetian canals and made in unique shipyards called Squero. Black is the obligatory color, due to a law passed to reduce how the rich and noble over-decorated their personal craft. The comb at the front of the gondola is made of iron and serves not only to balance the boat, but is also the symbol of gondolas and Venice. The six comb teeth represent the six Venetian districts- i sestieri. Note: the gondola is to be shared with other guests (maximum 6 participants on each gondola). There will be one musician on board of one of the gondola boats in your fleet.

Excursion to Isola Madre Cruise to the largest of the Borromeon Islands, the most characteristic due to its tranquil, enchanting atmosphere. Its English-style gardens, where all manner of peacocks, parrots and pheasants roam freely, are full of rare plants and exotic flowers such as flowering hibiscus, scented espaliers of citrons and Ginkgo trees, creating the charm of a tropical land. Isola Madre is particularly famous for its azalea, rhododendron, and camellia blossoms but is also home to pergolas of ancient wisteria and two hundred year old Cashmere Cyprus, one of the largest examples in Europe. In 1978, the sixteenth century palace was officially opened to the public. It is particularly interesting because of the reconstruction of period rooms, and the collection of liveries, dolls and porcelain housed there. The exhibition of "Teatrini delle Marionette" (small puppet theatres) dating from the seventeenth/nineteenth centuries is also truly exceptional. Isola Madre leaves the visitor with a feeling of extreme elegance, thanks to the care and attention paid to the gardens and to the interiors offering a certain quality that sets out to please even the most demanding tourist.
