Excursion to Queenstown Story
The compelling Queenstown Story tells the sad tale of the more than 2.5 Million adults and children who departed from Cobh between 1848 and 1950. The exhibition outlines the often dangerous 12-week sea voyage to the United States of America and takes you through the conditions of the boats often referred to as Coffin Ships due to the appalling conditions on board, hazards at sea and high fatality rate. The tragic voyages of the Titanic and the Lusitania, both with strong associations with the port, are also remembered in the Queenstown Story.
